Veterinary Associate

Veterinary Receptionist

The successful veterinary receptionist at Windmill Animal Hospital has the following attributes:

  • MUST HAVE PREVIOUS VETERINARY EXPERIENCE! The only entry level position is that of Kennel Technician
  • friendly, outgoing personality–to make sure our clients and their pets feel welcome and that we are glad they are here
  • good etiquette and manners–especially important over the phone
  • tact, discretion and sensitivity–for those high-stress moments clients can go through when their pets are ill
  • ability to multi-task–when all 3 phone lines ring just as 2 clients come in the front door
  • detail-oriented work habits–to keep up with all the little things constantly going on at a veterinary hospital front desk
  • familiarity with Windows-driven computer systems and basic office equipment

Veterinary Technician

Kennel Technician
Our kennel technicians are vital members of the Windmill Animal Hospital team. They make sure our patients are kept clean & comfortable, as well as well-fed and spoiled rotten! Our kennel techs also assist our veterinary technicians and doctors in providing patient care.

This is the traditional entry-level position in veterinary medicine; it is a great way to verify that veterinary medicine and animal care is the right choice for your career. Our most successful applicants are ambitious high school/college students with a desire to work with veterinary professionals and truly enjoy caring for animals.

Some Kennel Technician positions are part-time: after school in the afternoons, a.m. & p.m. shifts on weekends & holidays.
Duties include:

  1. PATIENT CARE: walk, feed, medicate all boarding dogs; feed, medicate boarding cats; clean cages/runs/litter boxes; bathe dogs, cats;
  2. HELP VETERINARY TECHNICIANS: patient restraint, clean exam rooms between patients, fill prescriptions, bring patients to front desk, take patients from front desk;
  3. HOSPITAL CLEANLINESS: process all hospital laundry (bedding towels, surgical linens); sweep, vacuum, mop entire premises twice daily; clean glass doors twice daily; empty trash cans each evening;
  4. HOSPITAL GROUNDS CLEANLINESS: pick up trash and animal wastes daily from yards, patrol parking lot for trash, keep dumpster enclosure neat and tidy.

Groomer – Pet Stylist
Full-time, all-breed groomer needed for our veterinary practice!
We schedule grooming services from Monday through Friday, with weekends off!! Our staff handles booking the grooming appointments, checking the grooming pets in, and checking them out. All our groomer has to do is bathe & groom!! We provide the table, cages, driers, shampoos, conditioners, ribbons, etc. All our groomer needs to bring are clippers, scissors, and other personal hand tools.

Compensation is 50% commission basis + 100% tips. This gives you, our groomer, all the benefits of owning your own grooming salon, without the headaches that come with it! Our groomer sets his/her own prices. All our groomer has to do is GROOM! Come join the Windmill Team!
